Shellshock 2 Brings Fear To The New Year

Survival horror sequel to ship in February

Eidos Interactive, creator of some of the world’s leading videogame properties, today announced that its Vietnam survival horror shooter, Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, will ship to retail in Europe on February 13th, 2009.

Sequel to the 2004 hit title, Shellshock: Nam ’67, Blood Trails pits players against a war unlike any they have seen before. Taking the first-person war game and turning it on its head, players will experience a conflict where fear takes on a whole new meaning.

At the height of the Vietnam War, a covert ops cargo plane carrying a top-secret consignment known only as ‘Whiteknight’ is lost over the deepest, uncharted jungles. Special Ops soldiers are immediately dispatched to the scene to retrieve the top secret shipment and one-by-one they disappear without a trace… until one month later, one of them suddenly walks out of the jungle.

Crazed and deranged, something in the jungle had ripped out his humanity, poisoning his soul. Something in the darkness had driven him mad….and followed him out.

HISTORY OF THE GRUMMAN F6F HELLCAT

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy service. Although the F6F bore a family resemblance to the Wildcat, it was a completely new design powered by a 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800. Some tagged it as the "Wildcat's big brother" [1]. The Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair were the primary USN fighters during the second half of World War II.

The Hellcat proved to be the most successful aircraft in naval history, destroying 5,171 aircraft[2] while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps (5,163 in the Pacific and eight more during the invasion of Southern France), plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II.[3] Postwar, the Hellcat aircraft was systematically phased out of front line service, but finally retired as late as 1954 as a night-fighter in composite squadrons.

Pat Benatar, The Pretenders and Thin Lizzy tracks added to Rock Band Music store

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of seven new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content including a 3-pack from Irishhard rock band Thin Lizzy as well as songs from Nikko, Pat Benatar and The Pretenders.

The Thin Lizzy 3-pack features live recordings of “Boys are Back in Town,” “Jailbreak” and “Cowboy Song.” The 3-pack will become the first Thin Lizzy tracks to join the Rock Band music library, and are taken from Still Dangerous: Live At The Tower Theater Philadelphia 1977. This newly discovered live album, featuring the quintessential Lizzy lineup—Phil Lynott, lead vocals/bass; Scott Gorham, guitar; Brian Robertson, guitar; Brian Downey, drums—showcases the band at the height of its prodigious powers and will be released on Vh1 Classic Records on March 3, 2009.

Rock sensation Pat Benatar has her Rock Band debut with the popular single “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.” This week’s lineup also includes “Precious” from British rock band The Pretenders, as well as “Break My Heart” and “Don’t Tell Me” from Nikko as featured in the movie Spectacular! The Pretenters’ songs “Brass in Pocket” and “Blue Christmas” were added as downloadable content last year.

• Quick Recovery from a POW Block: For this to work you must have drifting set on manual. After the second strike from a POW block – but before the third – start drifting so that you are in the air when the third strike comes. When you land you should spin and keep going at the same speed as before.

If an opponent uses a POW block on you, perform a wheelie as soon as you hear the third POW – you will lose your item and spin but you will maintain your speed.

• Bike Recovery: If you get hit while on your bike, do a wheelie and you can increase your speed quicker.

• Force a Hit: To force your opponent to land on an item and score you an automatic hit, place a banana or fake item box immediately after you land from a DK Cannon.

• Koopa Cape Shortcut: For a shortcut to Koopa Cape, after you go over the ramp that leads into the fast stream, keep going around and then enter through the small arch that has a ramp on the left. You must have something that gives you speed to do this such as a Super Mushroom. Instead of going around the giant red hat, go through the grass behind it making a straight pathway. This will help you win your race and improve your times in trial mode.

Wonderland Online: Version 4.0 Preview - Training Area

Wonderland Online has announced that the new 4.0 version will be released soon, and with news slowly leaking about the new upgrades coming, the WLO team has decided to open the floodgates and give players a comprehensive sneak preview of the biggest changes they’ve made.

The Training Area, Instance function, 12 Cursed Palaces quests, changing the Maid Robot’s suit, special skills and the 7 other new maps, will all be involved in the new WLO Version 4.0.

The Training Area is located to the Northeast of North Island. Players can reach this area quickly if they journey from North Island. But if they have a Training Voucher, they will travel there immediately after clicking on it.

Training Strategies

1. A Training Voucher will provide players with 6 hours to train, the time will stop immediately if players spawn at SB or a recorded place.
2. Players can stay in the Training Area after their time is up and enjoy a nice tour of the area without any interruption from monsters.
3. They can get HP and SP related items by killing monsters.
4. The system will restore both players and pets' HP by 100 and SP by 50.
5. Players can create a team for the Training Area, but only the player who uses the Training Voucherwill get EXP.
6. Players' gear will be consumed if they defeat monsters that are 19+ levels higher than their level.
7. Players can use EXP cards or potions to get more EXP.

Training Area—Forest: Suitable for level 10—level 50.
Training Area—Cave: Suitable for level 51—level 100.
Training Area—Ocean: Suitable for level 101—level 150.
