How to to transfer PS4 games and saves to PS4 Pro

The PS4 Pro is launched on 10th November with loads of benefits. You can transfer your games and saves to your new console with this simple guide...

All existing PS4 games are compatible, and so too are save files, All your replays and data can also be transferred.

Here's 3 way to transfer your data...

OPTION 1: Use an Ethernet cable (easy but has downside)

Update 4 firmware include a transfer function that lets you transfer you data using an Ethernet cable (great).

You can also use this to transfer data between PS4s or 2 PS4 Pro consoles or from your PS4 to the new PS4 Pro console.

This will move all your data including games, saves, screenshots, captured video, system settings all using Ethernet getting you started on your new console quickly.

Great and easy if you still have both consoles, no trade in option or pre sale here then!

Option 2: use Cloud Storage from SONY (needs PlayStation Plus)

You need a PlayStation Plus account with the 10GB of cloud storage included.

Upload all your data and then simply download to your new console - simples!

To do this go to: Settings > Application Data Management > Saved data in system > Upload to online storage

Games are not uploaded but you can re download them from the PlayStation Store.

OPTION 3: Move HDD/SDD using Cloud assist (needs PlayStation Plus)

If you installed a larger HDD or SSD drive in your old console (hopefully you kept the old one) simply swap out the drives.

WARNING: the PS4 Pro will want to reformat your drive, not good, but you can use cloud storage to with your PlayStation Pro account to back up and re download.
