Following rumours of a rift between Kojima and Konami it is understood he has left the company. Leaving on October 9th 2015.
It was said that Kojima would leave the firm once work on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was completed and Kojima's name was removed from promotional material relating to the game.
Kojima was employed by Konami foralmost 30 years and was its most famous employee not only did he create the Metal Geal Solid series he produced classics such as Snatcher, Policenauts and Zone of the Enders.
He now enters a period of "non-competition" which ends in December 2015.
Capcom say he is still employed and is on holiday... (Garden leave)
