PlayStation Move prices announced - Starter kit featuring motion controller and camera to cost around £50

October 19th will see the launch of PlayStation Move motion controller and camera the price has been announced for the starter kit. It's down to retailers what they charge, but the PlayStation Eye camera is expected to cost £25 with the sub-controller at the same price, the main motion controller is expected to cost £35 - considerably lower than Microsoft Kinect.

The Move system will come bundled with selected games, including 'Start the Party' and 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11' plus other mini-games - no prices have been announced for the bundles.


36 game publishers will support the Move system with over 20 Move enabled games released in 2010.


Compare this to Microsoft Kinect 'controller free' motion control system, expected to cost £130 - double the Move price point. Microsoft defended their price saying they will offer the new Xbox 360 slim will be available with Kinect for  £249.99.


Sony said in a statement: “PlayStation Move motion controller delivers unmatched accuracy through its advanced motion sensors, including a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a color-changing sphere that is tracked by PlayStation Eye camera.”
