Cancellation of Video Games Tax Relief could jeopardise inward investment

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, said today that the Coalition Government’s decision not to proceed with video Games Tax Relief in the Emergency Budget could jeopardise inward investment. TIGA made the comments following the report in today’s Financial Times that the absence of Games Tax Relief could adversely affect the decisions of major games businesses to invest in the UK.

Focus Multimedia and Ubisoft Extend Partnership

Ubisoft announced an environmental initiative to eliminate paper game manuals, replacing them with an in-game digital manual for all titles on PlayStation 3 (PS3) system and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The program, the first initiative of its kind in the video game industry, launches worldwide with Shaun White Skateboarding this autumn 2010.

GameTap And Ubisoft Renew Partnership

Prince of Persia, Shaun White Snowboarding video game downloads for Mac

Ubisoft will release the award-winning Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding to the Mac community in March 2009 via Ubisoft’s online digital store, GameTree Online and at traditional retail locations. Mac versions of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation : Hard Evidence, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Petz Sports will also be released at select retail establishments for the first time in March 2009.

“The Mac community has responded very positively to our previous game offerings and we’re excited to provide Mac users with a new selection of games through our relationship with TransGaming,” said Andy Swanson, senior director of strategic sales and partnerships at Ubisoft.

Ubisoft update 2009 games release dates...

Ubisoft's UK branch has sent Cubed3 its updated list of releases for the European market, with Rogue Trooper slinking onto Wii this coming Friday, Grey's Anatomy arriving in the middle of next month, the eagerly anticipated Broken Sword for DS and Wii towards the end of March and the Acquire-developed Tenchu on Wii landing at the beginning of April.
