Puzzle Quest coming to Apple iPhone?

Kotaku reports...

Yesterday I whined a bit about the lack of original announced titles coming to the iPhone. Specifically, very specifically, I called out Infinite Interactive, asking why they haven't jumped onto the iPhone bandwagon yet.

We all know the world can't get enough Puzzle Quest... well, at least I can't get enough of it. And the thought of being able to play the very touch-perfect puzzle RPG on my iPhone gives me goosebumps. So after my little hint didn't result in any immediate announcement of an iPhone Puzzle Quest or Galaxtrix, I took matters into my own hands and emailed Infinite Interactive to see what was up.

Janeen Fawkner, producer on the game was quick to respond:

Hi Brian, We would love to do a game on the iPhone, but we'll have to see what our publisher D3P has in mind... We'll suggest it to them :)

Sounds good, but I'm impatient, so I went to D3 next, asking when we could hope to see a Puzzle Quest on the iPhone and pointing out that Inifinite was gung-ho. Their spokesperson's response?

They're looking into details now and will get back to me soon.

Now, now, I want it now! I even made this handy-dandy screenshot for them. You can imagine what a pain I was to my parents when I was a kid.

Update: D3 just got back to me with this: "D3Publisher of America is exploring opportunities to bring Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords to a variety of mobile carriers."

That doesn't sound like a "Yes we're making it and you'll have it next week" to me at all. Not at all.

Fading Shadows video game addictive puzzle-platformer game exclusive to the Sony PSP

Genre: Puzzle
Developer: Ivolgamus
Release Date: February 2007
Price: £24.99
PEGI: 7+
Format: PSP

Fading Shadows, is an addictive puzzle-platformer game exclusive to the PSP from European developer, Ivolgamus. The game offers an entirely unique style of action-packed puzzle gameplay, stunning graphics and visual effects, a riveting and immersive storyline, plus a competitive wireless multiplayer game mode.

The player must safely guide an orb, containing the soul of a young boy to the Castle of Heaven by controlling a beam of light and exploiting the state–changing abilities of the orb to fulfil the challenges of the 40 single player levels or 10 multiplayer levels. Each level will require the player to change the state of the orb to glass, wood or metal, and control it with the appropriate force from the beam of light.

To conquer the Sinister Bridge level the orb must be moved through a series of pools separated by a drawbridge. Activate two switches near the first pool to lower the drawbridge and move to the next pool.

Transform the orb to wood to float across the pool…

Ensure not to evaporate the water in the pool with too much heat from the beam of light until the orb has reached the side – then leave the orb outside the pool and remove the water to enable the light to activate the switch at the bottom of the pool.

This opens a grate to allow the orb to be driven forward between holes in the path.

Avoid the hot centre of the circle while pressing the switches in order to open the final gate and complete the level.

Fading Shadows is to be released in February 2008.

Sony PSP - PlayStationPortable - Puzzle Guzzle video game

PSP system Puzzle Game Challenges Players toCreate Order From Chaotic Pieces

Agetec, Inc. today announced it will be publishing Puzzle Guzzle for the PSP (PlayStationPortable) system. In the game, players race to assemble triangles and other shapes by rotating marked squares pieces. It may sound simple, but winning at Puzzle Guzzle requires that players think in multiple dimensions to succeed.

Like any good puzzle game, Puzzle Guzzle quickly turns from an entertaining pastime to a vexing challenge that is extremely addictive. As the pieces appear faster and faster, and in even more complicated patterns, players can go from trying to finish a level to simply trying to stay alive. For an even greater test of multi-lateral thinking skills, Puzzle Guzzle can be played competitively against a friend to see whose mind is quicker on the draw.

“Puzzle Guzzle is sure to be a game that PSP system owners will love,” said Mark Johnson, producer for Agetec, Inc. “It starts out simple enough, but it doesn’t take long before that classic panicked feeling starts taking over as the game becomes progressively more challenging.”

Puzzle Guzzle will be released for the PSP system in North America in the spring of this year.
