Spread across 59 courses in seven exotic high-definition environments including lush rainforests, massive glacier fields, and canyons of razor-sharp rock, the beauty of Fatal Inertia EX could easily mask the harrowing thrills in this high-speed contest of champions.

Developed by KOEI CANADA, Fatal Inertia EX provides a glimpse into the future of racing in stunning 720p HDTV and in-game Dolby Digital audio. Competition winners will see their design featured as part of a forthcoming collection of player-created Warhawk insignias and paint schemes

  • We’re looking for original and eye catching designs so be creative!
  • Dylan Jobe, Warhawk’s Game Director, and the rest of the development team at Incognito will pick the best paint and insignia schemes
  • Submit your entries via the official Warhawk forums or email them to us before 23nd June to qualify

Playable online exclusively via PLAYSTATION Network and available either by download from PLAYSTATION Network or on Blu-ray disc, Warhawk pits teams of gamers from across the globe against one another in a melee of armed combat with squad action coordinated by live voice communication. You’ll join an elite online community of teams and clans: all with full stat-tracking support, rankings, leaderboards, badges and awards to recognise the most driven warriors on the battlefield. If you can conceive imaginative, eye catching and unique paint and insignia schemes, we want you to send us your design. The winning designs will then be incorporated into the forthcoming patch update. This will allow all Warhawk players from across Europe to use them in-game to customise their troops and aircraft.

Entries will be judged by a panel from Incognito studios that will include Dylan Jobe, Warhawk’s Game Director. In order to qualify you must submit your design before by 22nd June 23h59 GMT – so get busy designing.

To take part in this cool competition, all you have to do is design a new insignia or paint scheme (or both!) – guidance on how to do this, plus technical restrictions and eligibility requirements, can be found on eu.playstation.com or on the official Warhawk forums at http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board?board.id=608

If you have yet to experience Warhawk’s fast-paced and frenetic multiplayer military battles, then you’re missing out on the most adrenaline-fuelled online experience ever – it’s exclusive to PS3 and available either by download from PLAYSTATION Network or on Blu-ray disc. Novastrike - explosive arcade shooter on Playstation Networ

Novastrike will be available on PlayStation Network today.
“We’re definitely very pleased to finally finish NOVASTRIKE for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system – it’s been quite a journey getting here as an independent developer and first-time publisher,” said Kevin McCann, president and creative director of Tiki Games. “NOVASTRIKE is also going to be the first self-published game on the PLAYSTATION Network – so for other independent developers out there, we’re living proof that it’s definitely possible to self-publish a game on the PLAYSTATION Network.”
Hardened shooter veterans will find a wealth of options in their arsenal in NOVASTRIKE, a sci-fi war zone that pits players against an onslaught by the world-conquering Draelus. From the cockpit of their experimental Scythe fighter, able pilots will utilize free-roaming flight and multiple weapon variations to combat an armada of alien forces in the air and on land. With ship and weapon upgrades, and a slew of allied units, players of NOVASTRIKE will engage the Draelus in a variety of planetary environments, completing objectives and facing fearsome opponents in their fight to drive back the invasion.

NOVASTRIKE Features:
• Seven expansive challenging stages driven by objective-based goals
• Free-roaming flight: there aren’t any rails here, so players can fly in any direction
• Progressive weapon acquisition and upgrade system: as the player collects weapon drops from enemy ships the weapons themselves become available to the Scythe – there are nine base weapon systems, each with three subsequent upgrade levels
• Air and ground targets: two separate weapon systems allow the player to combat both air and ground opponents
• Multi-sectioned enemies where individual components can be destroyed; for example, carriers have hangars that launch fighters – these hangars can be destroyed independently of destroying the Carrier preventing the Carrier from launching additional fighters
• Multitude of enemies and environments: players combat enemy fighters, bombers, kamikazes, aces, carriers, and destroyers, all leading to an end-boss fight
• You’re not alone: friendly fighters, bombers, and destroyers will aid you in your efforts to vanquish the Draelus invasion
• DualShock 3 support
• Continuing support: Tiki Games will be developing additional content for NOVASTRIKE throughout 2008

Overlord Raising Hell demo comes to the PLAYSTATION 3

Summon Sample Minions from PLAYSTATION Network today ahead of full game launch on June 20th

Prepare to experience the brilliantly brutal Minion-on-sheep action of Overlord Raising Hell in the playable demo, launching today for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system. Taken from the forthcoming extended and extra evil edition of Triumph Studios’ twisted fantasy blockbuster, the demo is set to be available – along with Minion-infested wallpapers and themes – from PLAYSTATION Network later today.
In the demo, players don the Overlord’s illustrious armour and embark on a session of serious destruction in the once tranquil area of the Mellow Hills. As the delightfully despotic Overlord, players are supported by the Minions, a raucous horde of impish creatures. The Minions are more than willing to act as instructed, no matter how unpleasant that may be for the unsuspecting populace and, most notably, the local wildlife.

Players use their ever loyal and ever lethal Minions to gather life-force from the somewhat unwilling sheep in order to grow the size of the minion horde. Add to that upgrades for the Minions, including pumpkins as helmets, throw in some peasant intimidation and a show-down with the Guard Troll at the Slave Camp and that’s just as taste of the havoc that a minion horde can wreak.
In the full game, players will be able to amass armies of up to 50 minions and select from three further minion types to lead into battle as they explore and conquer the world’s five kingdoms. Overlord Raising Hell also takes players deeper into the Overlord’s warped world with a series of additional hellish levels, each a supernatural abyss for the game’s domains.

With the addition of online co-operative pillaging, and split-screen head-to-head slaughter, the PLAYSTATION 3 system edition will also be enhanced with detailed visuals, a top-spec audio system with 7.1 surround sound and feature additions, such as the new on-screen mini-map. Prepare for a hellishly good time being bad with Overlord Raising Hell, coming June 20th for the PLAYSTATION 3 system. For video and the latest minion-infested wallpapers, be sure to visit www.codemasters.com/overlordraisinghell

Sony PlayStation Network's Top Ten Games

The PlayStation Network's 2.8 million registered users have been busy, downloading 46 million pieces of content so far. Some of the most popular items downloaded by the service's overwhelmingly male audience (92 percent) were, naturally, games.

The top ten games downloaded purchased the United States were fl0w, Mortal Kombat 2, Tekken 5, Pain, Warhawk, Bowling, Super Stardust, Calling All Cars, Aquatopia, and Everyday Shooter.

Compare them with the top ten Xbox Live Arcade games from last year: TMNT 1989 Arcade, Worms, Castlevania: SOTN, Uno, Bomberman Live, 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures, Sonic The Hedgehog, Pinball FX, Geometry Wars Evolved, Texas Hold 'em.

The services aren't identical, so this isn't exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but one does have to wonder if this says more about PSN and XBLA themselves or the audiences they serve. Is the PSN simply a haven for indie games, or does the 360's audience just plain prefer more tried-and-true content? Would flOw be a hit on XBLA? Would Uno score on PSN?
