Annual New York Game Awards 2021 the winners... Hades wins a load...

Games and franchises from around the gaming ecosystem, both nostalgic and new, take home awards.


Hosted today by Reggie Fils-Aimé and Harold Goldberg, the New York Videogame Critics Circle celebrated the best in gaming at the 10th annual New York Game Awards held virtually for the first time. The organization bestowed its highest honor, the Big Apple Award for Best Game of the Year, to the action RPG, Hades from Supergiant Games. Winning over the critics, Hades took home multiple awards, including the Herman Melville Award for Best Writing in a Game, the Tin Pan Alley Award for Best Music in a Game and the Off Broadway Award for Best Indie Game. And, it’s not just music, writing and game play that stole the hearts of the video game critics, as the acting in the game was honored with the Great White Way Award for Best Acting in a Game for Logan Cunningham’s role as Lord Hades, Poseidon, Achilles, Charon, The Storyteller and Asterius in Hades. BAFTA young game designer 2020 winners announced

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced the four winners of the 10th nationwide BAFTA Young Game Designers (YGD) competition. This year’s winners, selected by a jury of industry experts, were revealed at the first-ever digital ceremony, hosted by presenter Aoife Wilson.



BAFTA YGD discovers, showcases and supports Britain’s young games talent by providing access to some of the most creative minds in the industry, through a year-round programme of mentorship, workshops and networking. Further information can be found here.

BAFTA Winners Announced: 2020 British Academy Games Awards in full


  • Outer Wilds wins Best Game, Game Design and Original Property
  • Three BAFTAs also for Disco Elysium: Debut Game, Narrative and Music
  • Observation wins British Game
  • Untitled Goose Game wins Family Game
  • Martti Suosalo (Control) wins Performer in a Supporting Role
  • Gonzalo Martin (Life is Strange 2, episodes 2-5) wins Performer in a Leading Role
  • Call of Duty: Mobile wins the public vote for EE Mobile Game of the Year

At tonight’s British Academy Games Awards, Outer Wilds, the action-adventure mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop, won Best Game, Game Design and Original Property.

Also winning three BAFTAs was the open-world, role playing detective game Disco Elysium, for Debut Game, Narrative and Music.

Women in Games announce new Mobile Games Awards this September

Women in Games, the not for profit, games industry diversity organisation, is pleased to announce the first edition of the Women in Games Mobile Awards which will showcase some of the best, published mobile games created by teams with women developers in Europe.


This new competition is endorsed by the IMGA (International Mobile Gaming Awards), the longest standing mobile games award program.

BAFTA Young Game Designer awards 2015 - Minecraft to receive first ever BAFTA YGD Hero Award


The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced the finalists in a nation-wide game design competition for 10-18 year-olds.


The 40 young hopefuls, who were selected by a jury of industry experts, will attend a special awards ceremony at BAFTA’s headquarters, 195 Piccadilly in London, on Saturday 25 July, where the winners will be revealed.

European Games Award 2012 Online voting for the Pan-European public choice award for games lasts until August 13


Votes for the European Games Award are coming in thick and fast as the intensity rises to find out who will win the top awards this year. Over 100.000 votes have been submitted online at http://www.european-games-award.com/index.php/voting and a new voting record has already been broken. Games, developers, publishers, magazines and platforms from 15 countries compete until August 13, 2012, for the much sought-after prize in the gaming industry – the European Games Award.

ME Awards 2011: Full winners list - Mobile gaming

2011 GAME British Academy Video Games Awards BAFTA Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Civilization V honoured at UK game awards

HEAVY RAIN won three awards at the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards at the London Hilton, hosted by Dara O’Briain. The film noir-style thriller took home the BAFTAs for Original Music, Technical Innovation and Story.

Indie horror video game 'The Path' title wins at hóPLAY Bilbao

The first edition of the hóPLAY International Video Game Festival has ended with the announcement of its competition winners during an amusing ceremony at the Alhóndiga center in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. Indie horror title The Path by Belgian development studio Tale of Tales has received two of the six awards: one for Best Design and one for Best Sound. Each award is good for 6,000 Euros. Tale of Tales is celebrating with a 50% discount on the game.

Unity Technologies Wins Prestigious Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award
