NBA ELITE 11 - 9th Wonder and J. Cole create official soundtrack composers

NBA ELITE 11 logoElectronic Arts announce that Grammy Award Winning Producer and DJ, 9th Wonder, and Roc Nation star MC, J. Cole, have created the soundtrack for EA SPORTSTM NBA ELITE 11. The game will include a full soundtrack designed by 9th Wonder and title track “The Plan” by J. Cole. This is the first EA SPORTS NBA title to have a custom soundtrack that has been created solely by two artists.

Record attempt for NBA Live 07 before video game servers are switched off

Since 2006 when NBA Live 07 was released, and the game servers switched on, one elusive event has teased Xbox 360 users.

Before the servers are switched off, on February 2nd 2010, a game site has asked Xbox users to rent, buy or play the game between 18:00 and 19:00 GMT on January 31st allowing users to log the achievement...

2K Sports Partners with Tencent to Bring NBA 2K Online to Asia

NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant Partnership with China's largest online game operator to introduce top rated basketball video game franchise to NBA fans in Asia

2K Sports announce its partnership with Tencen to co-develop the online version of NBA 2K and distribute it to China and other key markets. 2K Sports has secured a multi-year license to develop the online simulation game, which will include all of the NBA teams, as well as current and retired NBA players.

“The incredible popularity of basketball in Asia combined with the love of online games in that region makes this a very exciting project for 2K,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “For the first time, 2K is developing an online game combining our expertise in making the best-selling* and top-rated** NBA 2K video game franchise with the proven ability of Tencent for developing and operating highly successful online game communities in China.”

China experienced significant online gaming growth in 2008 and generated $2.75 billion in revenue - a 61% increase from the prior year***. This market is projected to reach $8.9 billion in revenue by 2013, with nearly 120 million people playing games online***.

Dwight Howard on cover of NBA Live 10 video game

Dwight Howard flexing his musclesElectronic Arts announce today that Orlando Magic center, Dwight Howard, will be the cover athlete for NBA LIVE 10. A three-time NBA All-Star, Howard is currently looking to lead the Magic franchise to their first NBA Championship. The No. 1 pick of the 2004 NBA Draft was the 2009 NBA Defensive Player of the Year presented by Kia Motors, an All-NBA First Team selection the last two seasons, and stole the show at the 2008 NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest with his superhero antics.

Additionally, Howard was the starting center of the 2008 U.S. Basketball Men’s Senior National Team which won the gold medal at the Olympics in Beijing. NBA LIVE 10 is currently in development under the EA SPORTS brand by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C. and will be available worldwide this October.
“It’s an honor to be named as the cover athlete for NBA LIVE 10,” said Howard. “This year has been a crazy ride and this is a cool way to cap it off. Of course - there is one more thing I’m on the hunt for that would complete it.”

2K9 basketball demo on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network

With the start of the regular NBA basketball season right around the corner, 2K Sports today announced that a free demo of NBA 2K9 is now available for download on Sony PlayStation Network, and is scheduled to be available tomorrow morning on Microsoft Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The demo will offer fans an opportunity to relive this past season’s exciting NBA Finals and play in a four minute quarter as either the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston.

Luol Deng picked for EA Sports NBA Live 09 cover


Chicago Bulls forward, Luol Deng, will be the cover athlete and spokesman for NBA LIVE 09 in the UK. Deng, raised in the UK from 1993, has played in the NBA for three years and is a vital part of the Great Britain national team. This is the first time the UK has worked with a local athlete and highlights the continued growth of the NBA in Europe.
“I’m proud to be the first British athlete chosen to appear on the NBA Live cover in the UK” said Luol Deng. “It’s an honour to be recognized by EA SPORTS as a UK ambassador for NBA Live 09 and I’m looking forward to playing for the Great Britain National team.”

Deng is joined by some of the NBA’s biggest international stars on packaging around the world, including Los Angeles Lakers Pau Gasol (Spain) and Toronto Raptors Andrea Bargnani (Italy).



Additionally San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will be the cover athlete and spokesman for NBA LIVE 09 globally. In his seven NBA seasons, the 26 year old is a two-time NBA All-Star, has three NBA championships and was named the 2007 NBA Finals MVP. Parker will be the first European born (France) global cover athlete of NBA LIVE. Off the court, Parker is an avid gamer and won an NBA LIVE 08 tournament against fellow NBA stars at the EA SPORTS All-Star Challenge last February in New Orleans.

2K Sports to Reveal Cover Athlete for NBA® 2K9 During Pre-Game Show for Game One of the NBA Finals on June 5


Fans can now visit new 2K Sports Community Site to predict next cover athlete and win exclusive prizes

2K Sports, the sports publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, today announced that the cover athlete for the highly anticipated basketball video game NBA 2K9 will be revealed through a 30 second TV spot scheduled to air during the NBA Countdown pre-game show for Game One of the 2008 NBA Finals, June 5 on ABC.

As part of revealing the new cover athlete, 2K Sports has launched a new community web site, www.2ksports.com/nba2k9, where registered participants can predict the cover athlete for NBA 2K9 from a selection of 16 NBA players. Fans who predict correctly will be entered into a special drawing for the opportunity to win exclusive prizes.

Konsole Kingz Partners with 2K Sports for the NBA® 2K8 High Risers Tournament

Konsole Kingz, a leading destination of multimedia content revolving around celebrity gamers and the urban gamer lifestyle, in partnership with 2K Sports, announced today it will be hosting the NBA 2K8 High Risers Tournament on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Scheduled to kick off on March 2nd, participation in the tournament is free and involves two separate competitions, each with its own set of prizes. The High Risers Qualifying Tournament

The High Risers Slam Dunk Main Event
The top 16 of the High Risers Qualifying Tournament will automatically be entered in the High Risers Slam Dunk Main Event. This tournament will be voted on by the public, as all dunks are submitted via 2K8 ReelMaker. The public will vote until it is down to the final 4. Special guest judges will then decide which of the finalists the ultimate High Riser is, and award them with a brand new LCD HDTV.

NBA Street Online launched in Asia


This follows "exceptional success" of FIFA Online in Korea

Electronic Arts has announced a partnership with GigaMedia Ltd to launch and operate NBA Street Online in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau in Q1 2008.

While EA has licensed and developed the game, GigaMedia will handle marketing, community management, and technical and customer support locally.

Arthur M Wang, CEO of GigaMedia, believes the title will make a positive impact in the sector space: "This product is going to be the star product in the online gaming market."

The move follows what the company calls "the exceptional success" of FIFA Online in Korea, and the NBA game will include a number of community and customisation elements, as well as six player multiplayer tournaments.

A recent DFC report stated that it expected global game revenues to have multiplied by five times between 2003 and 2008, and that Asian territories would account for 68 percent of the total figure by then.

NBA Europe Live - EA Sports tips off



EA and NBA unite the best in real and virtual basketball on European courts this week
CHERTSEY, UK 5 October 2007 – NBA Europe LIVE presented by EA SPORTS™ is bringing some of the world’s best basketball action to fans in Europe this week as EA and NBA unite for the second time. NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS began on 1st October and features the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves in training camps and exhibition games against top Euroleague Basketball clubs in six cities across Turkey, Italy, Spain, and the UK. The first games of this year’s tour are on October 6 in both Istanbul and Rome.

As the presenting partner, EA SPORTS will also conduct a number of events around the launch of the popular new videogame NBA LIVE 08, which will be available across Europe on the Xbox 360™ video game system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment systems and the PSP (PlayStation Portable). Wii and PC versions of the game.

NBA Europe LIVE presented by EA SPORTS is a comprehensive tour of Europe that includes training camps and exhibition games against NBA and Euroleague Basketball teams. During last year’s inaugural NBA Europe, four teams – the San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns - held training camps in France, Russia, Spain and Italy respectively and competed against top Euroleague Basketball teams with exhibition games held in Germany.
