E3 2019: Microsoft unveiling sees Supermarket Shriek hit Xbox Game Pass with immediate effect

After making a splash at Microsoft’s Xbox E3 Briefing yesterday, Billy Goat Entertainment is excited to announce that Supermarket Shriek is now available on Xbox One and PC with immediate effect.

The game - which offers players the chance to work together in what has been described as the most bizarre (shopping) kart racer on the planet, controlling a man and a goat with their voice as they fly around a series of deadly supermarkets - is now available for free to subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Supermarket Shriek can also be picked up for £14.99 $17.99 €17.99 on the Microsoft Store.

For Billy Goat Entertainment director William Barr, the decision to launch Supermarket Shriek on Game Pass was an entirely logical one - certainly more logical than shoving a man and a goat into a shopping trolley, anyway.

“When we started out we couldn’t give our games away, now thanks to our friends at Microsoft we can!” jokes Barr. “Supermarket Shriek has proved to be a tough game to market - just ask the guy who wrote this press release! It’s something nobody expects to be looking for but the reception from people when they play the game has been phenomenal. Game Pass is a great way to get our game in the hands of as many players as possible.

“Microsoft and the ID@Xbox team have kindly hosted the game at numerous events across the globe over the course of the last year, and it’s been amazing to watch people take to its particular brand of multiplayer mayhem. It’s inclusion on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass is the best way to open up Supermarket Shriek in people’s homes, too.”

For E3 attendees, Billy Goat Entertainment is also excited to announce that Supermarket Shriek will be available to play again at the Xbox Experience hosted in the Microsoft Theater throughout the course of the Expo. The game’s appearance at E3 comes after a successful run at multiple events in both North America and Europe, with Supermarket Shriek having previously been named as the Best British Game at last year’s Gamescom by Ukie.

Supermarket Shriek is a unique (shopping) kart racer where an unlikely duo (a man and a goat) find themselves in a trolley, navigating through various obstacle courses and challenges situated inside a range of shops, boutiques and supermarkets. Because, why not? Furthermore, movement is controlled by our hero’s voice, or more specifically, their wild incomprehensible screaming. Propel our protagonists using a gamepad in single player or play our unique co-op mode with dual microphones for an experience like no other!
