Rise of Insanity - Psychological horror game on PC Linux

Rise of Insanity is a first-person psychological horror game, with additional support for VR, which draws inspiration from classic psychological horror masterpieces such as The Shining, The Exorcist and Silent Hill.

Set in America in the 1970's, the story centers around Dr. Stephen Dowell, a renowned phycologist faced with a difficult patient who shows distinct yet contradictory symptoms of different mental disorders. The life of the doctor himself is also shrouded in mystery – you must step into his shoes to find out the truth.

What terrible fate has befallen your wife and child? Is your new patient, on whom you are testing your experimental treatment methods, somewhat responsible for what happened? Who is to blame? Don’t lose your nerve and overcome your fear.

VR FAQs

Can I play Rise of Insanity on VR?

Yes you can! Rise of Insanity has VR support. But remember this is not typical VR game. Moving is not based on teleports but is free (which can cause motion sickness) and there is no full support for motion controllers (you don't see your hands).
If the traditional way of movement causes motion sickness (VR sickness), we do not recommend playing the VR version. The game has alternative snap rotation.

Is any difference between system requirements when I want to play VR?

Unfortunately yes. If you want to enjoy the VR game your system must meet the minimum requirements like:

OS: Windows 7
Processor: i5- 4590 equivalent or greater
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: VR - GTX 970 absolute minimum, we recommend GTX 980
Storage: 10 GB available space

Will full version of Rise of Insanity be available for Linux?

Yes it will! However, it will be in beta state (Only tested on Ubuntu 16.04) and will not have VR support.
