Why L.A. Noire is $10 more on Switch than XOne & PS4

Rockstar, not known for their support of Nintendo platforms, will release L.A. Noire on Switch on November 14th along side the PS4 and XOne versions. The game will retail at $49.99 that's $10 more than the other versions - why?

The official reason is the cost of putting the game on a flash card instead of disc. All very well but why would the download version be more expensive? It doesn't make sense to me. Nintendo have always charged a premium, why? because they can.

As games become larger a Blu-Ray disc that can hold 50GB will be easier to make than trying to get games on 32GB cartridge or the smaller 8GB.

L.A. Noire is a huge game and wouldn't fit on the usual 8GB cartridge used by most Switch games. The Switch has little on board memory and expansion is expensive and not transferable.

Developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller set in post World War II Los Angeles. As Detective Cole Phelps, players must search for clues, interrogate suspects and chase down criminals to solve a series of cases inspired by real world incidents. As he rises through the ranks of the LAPD, Phelps comes face-to-face with the corrupt heart of Los Angeles: from fallen starlets to double-dealing police officers and the vast reaches of the criminal underworld – and finally, the darkness of his own personal demons.
