Become King of ARK with the Gigantosaurus new trailer - PC PS4

Working to expand the diversity of lifeforms in its extensive dinosaur library, Studio Wildcard, the studio that never sleeps, revealed today one of the biggest beasts thus far in the ARK: Survival Evolved creature-scape with the Giganotosaurus, an enormous and dangerous new predator that towers over even the Tyrannosaurus or the Spinosaurus.

Finding, hunting, and taming this fearsome ‘flagship’ dinosaur requires the very best gear and skills, providing a new late-game challenge for elite players and large raiding Tribes. Also in today’s ARK update, Studio Wildcard has added both swords and a set of primitive & modern shields for more advanced melee combat.

While greater in size than most large predators, the Giganotosaurus is sometimes less dangerous when encountered in the wild, due to its sluggish speed. Even still, getting trapped or chased down by a Giganotosaurus often means certain death for nearly any creature.

Taming a Giganotosaurus is a dangerous prospect. Its rage reaction, even when tamed, can sometimes cause it to briefly turn on members of its own tribe. Indeed, it may even throw off its rider if it has been sufficiently angered! And yet, the sheer size and immense power that the Giganotosaurus possesses means that some factions endeavor to tame it as a fear-inducing "capital" beast of war -- even at great risk!

Fighting a Giganotosaurus directly is always a bad idea, as its rage rapidly grows with every hit it takes. With this rage, it builds increasing reserves of energy to use, making its iron-jawed bites progressively more deadly and enhancing its stamina.

ARK: Survival Evolved was among the top five selling titles for its first four months in Steam’s Early Access and continues to maintain a solid position in the top 10 sellers, with more than two million copies sold on Steam. Developed by Studio Wildcard, in conjunction with Instinct Games, ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in June 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation 4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam PC. The game is currently in Steam’s Early Access program and includes Oculus Rift VR support and an integration of Steam community features such as Steam Economy and Steam Workshop for custom maps and mods. Players can host private/LAN servers and have access to a custom-built version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor for creating mods. The world of ARK is designed to be modder-friendly and ever-expanding!
