“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey to Make Historic Franchise Debut as WWE 2K19 Pre-Order Bonus Character

Olympic medalist, feature film actress, UFC Hall of Famer and current WWE Superstar, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, will make her WWE console video game debut in WWE 2K19, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise.


The “Baddest Woman on the Planet” – who put the WWE Universe on notice with a surprise Royal Rumble 2018 appearance, blockbuster WrestleMania 34 debut match and continued explosive presence – will appear in WWE 2K19 as a playable character wearing her signature ring gear inspired by “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. In addition, 2K’s global marketing campaign trailer for the announcement, which debuted during last night’s Monday Night Raw broadcast, further celebrates Ronda’s landmark WWE arrival and incredible bond shared with the late WWE Hall of Famer through inclusion of Piper’s verbal praise from her Piper’s Pit podcast appearance in 2015.

WWE 2K18 Coming to Nintendo Switch tomorrow December 6

WWE 2K18, the latest entry in the flagship WWE video game franchise, will be available for Nintendo Switch starting on December 6. The Nintendo Switch edition is a robust offering showcasing the following:


  • All of the series’ biggest modes, including MyCAREER, Road to Glory, customizable Universe Mode, Online play, local multiplayer and the dynamic Creation Suite;
  • New features, including the new grapple carry system, new weight detection, thousands of new animations, a massive backstage area, the biggest roster ever and up to six characters onscreen at once, as well as the ability to play on TV or in handheld mode with up to four people in online and local multiplayer;
  • And lastly, for those who pre-ordered the physical version of WWE 2K18 on Nintendo Switch, two playable versions of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle: his WWE “American Hero” persona (2001) and his ECW “Wrestling Machine” persona (2006). Digital WWE 2K18 customers will be able to download the Kurt Angle pack at no additional cost through December 13, 2017.

WWE Superstars Gallows and Anderson join commentary box for launch of WWE 2K18

New footage showing WWE Superstars Gallows and Anderson surprising WWE gamers with ‘real-time’ commentary for the launch of WWE 2K18. Hidden away from the unsuspecting gamers, the Superstars are seen unleashing their own personal style of feedback on the live gameplay happening in a specially designed gaming booth.


“What’s great about WWE 2K is the overall experience when playing, from the action onscreen through to the energy and buzz created by all the crowd noise and commentary,” said Simon Turner, Head of Marketing and Communications UK at 2K. “For the launch of WWE 2K18, we wanted to have fun with this aspect and capture the reactions from some of our biggest fans. Gallows and Anderson, and their comical approach, were the perfect duo to surprise our fans.”

Final Installation of WWE 2K18 Roster Reveal

The fourth and final installment of the WWE 2K18 Official Roster Reveal is here and features 47 additional WWE Superstars announced for inclusion in the forthcoming franchise’s worldwide release. WWE’s Renee Young and Corey Graves, joined by WWE Superstars Breezango, revealed the last group of WWE Superstars confirmed to appear in WWE 2K18.


The installment brings the following WWE Superstars to WWE 2K18’s extensive roster: Aiden English, Alicia Fox, Batista, Big E, Billie Kay, Bo Dallas, Booker T, Charlotte Flair, Christian, Curt Hawkins, Curtis Axel, Darren Young, Enzo Amore, Epico Colon, Fandango, Goldust, Gran Metalik, Heath Slater, Jack Gallagher, Jake Roberts, JBL, Kassius Ohno, Kofi Kingston, No Way Jose, Noam Dar, Peyton Royce, Primo Colon, Rhyno, Rich Swann, R-Truth, RVD, Shane McMahon, Shawn Michaels, Stephanie McMahon, Steve Austin, Sting, Sycho Sid, Tatanka, Tatsumi Fujinami, The Brian Kendrick, Titus O’Neil, Trish Stratus, Tyler Breeze, Typhoon, Tyson Kidd, Ultimate Warrior and Xavier Woods.

WWE 2K18 Feature Set Reveal

It’s finally time for us to start sharing our plans for WWE 2K18 with everyone! Similar to recent years, we won’t be providing full details today, but we are ready to share some insight into several of the exciting new features and improvements we are making for WWE 2K18.


As our development progresses this summer and into the fall, there will be more to share as we approach the game’s release in October. In addition, our team is excited to announce the 2KDev Spotlight Series, starting next Thursday, July 13 on wwe.2k.com, that will provide ongoing information updates and a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making a WWE 2K game.
