Focus Multimedia and Ubisoft Extend Partnership

Prince of Persia artworkNew republishing deal agreed between Focus Multimedia, one of the of the UK’s leading PC games and software publishers, and Ubisoft, a leading worldwide producer, publisher and distributor of entertainment software.

The agreement further cements the long-standing partnership between the two publishing giants and will see key Ubisoft titles of recent years launched on PC in the UK under the Focus best-selling ‘Essential Games’ label.

Award-Winning Video Game - Prince of Persia music performance in Australia

http://gamezplay.org video gamesInon Zur's majestic and emotionally charged orchestral music from Ubisoft's Prince of Persia video games will be performed in front of a live audience for the first time as part of the "A Night in Fantasia 2009" spectacular. Recognized around the globe as the most popular brand of video game and anime symphony concerts, "A Night in Fantasia 2009" will be held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Australia, on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Tickets are now available via Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.com.au.

Award-winning composer Inon Zur (www.inonzur.com) created a compelling and epic original score for the latest Prince of Persia video game, including the sweeping themes which feature a cinematic orchestral style blended with eastern ethnic instrumentation.

Zur will be a special guest conducting the full symphony orchestra, accompanied by visuals from the games on the big screen, as well as speaking to the audience about his music for Prince of Persia and signing autographs during a meet-and-greet.

The concert will be recorded and released on CD in the weeks following "A Night in Fantasia 2009." A special CD with a 'behind the scenes' DVD will be released in limited editions. Packages are available for pre-order via the Eminence website, www.eminenceonline.com.

"Fans will be blown away by the musical extravaganza of 'A Night in Fantasia 2009'," said Hiroaki Yura, Founder and Director of Eminence Artists. "We're taking 'A Night in Fantasia' to a whole new level with this concert - we're going to raise the roof!"

Ubisoft games for digital download

Metaboli announce that Ubisoft titles will be available via download-to-own for the first time. The deal, which comes into effect on 12th June, will be available to customers in EMEA through www.gamesplanet.com and in the U.S. through www.gametap.com. Metaboli has a longstanding relationship with Ubisoft, with numerous titles currently available through Metaboli’s subscription-based services.

“Metaboli currently has 47 Ubisoft titles in its catalogue, which have proven particularly popular with our users. Several games including Assassin’s Creed, Raving Rabbits, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Brothers in Arms, Rainbow Six and the Splinter Cell series have performed consistently well across our subscription platform,” comments Pierre Forest, VP Content at Metaboli. “These games will undoubtedly achieve the same success through our download-to-own model, especially as they will now be distributed in the U.S. market following our acquisition of GameTap.”


In addition, Ubisoft will provide its own download-to-own service through its digital store, UBIshop. Metaboli’s white-label Digital Tycoon technology will be used to power UBIshop as well as individual e-stores dedicated to specific titles. Initially this will include:

DRM-free classic PC games - Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Far Cry on GOG.com

The agreement brings classic Ubisoft titles like Beyond Good and Evil, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Far Cry, Heroes of Might and Magic and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell to gamers around the world via GOG.com’s DRM-free games catalogue. As with all GOG.com releases, the titles are affordable and accompanied by mounds of extras, including soundtracks, wallpapers, forum avatars and much more.

Prince of Persia DLC - full trophies list

Console Monsters have just added the Downloadable Content Trophies for Ubisoft's Platformer - Prince of Persia, available on the PlayStation 3.

The list contains a total of 10 New Trophies featuring 7 Bronze and 3 Silver Trophies.

Prince of Persia Epilogue Downloadable Content for consoles February 26

Ubisoft have revealed new details about Prince of Persia Epilogue Downloadable Content (DLC). Scheduled to release for consoles February 26, 2009, Prince of Persia DLC continues the story of the Prince and Elika with a brand-new epic adventure.
Game features include:

- New Region: The Underground Palace – A corrupted underground palace from which the Prince and Elika need to escape in a new epic journey.

- New Power: Energize – Reconstruct destroyed areas of the environment to create a path and rush through it before it vanishes.


- New high pace: The new trap challenge – The Prince and Elika will face more cunning foes, cleverer traps and level design, adding more to the difficulty level in over 3 hours of gameplay.


- New Attack: Sprinting Clash – A duel move that lets you or the enemy trigger a sprint attack, charging towards each other, clashing your weapons fiercely.


- New Unlockable Skins: Finish the game and unlock exclusively, from the early development of the game, the Prototype characters of the Prince and Elika.

Prince of Persia Art contest launched

To celebrate the forthcoming release of Prince of Persia on December 5th 2008, Ubisoft has teamed up with art community hub deviantART to challenge the creative brilliance of the community members to create stunning, innovative, and original art inspired by the game.

The Prince of Persia Fan Art contest (http://news.deviantart.com/article/62882/) lays down the challenge for members of the deviantART community to create and deliver their own original interpretations of the striking concept and production artwork that has been created during development.

As well as recognition for their efforts by the judges from the Ubisoft Montreal studio team, the First Place winner will win an XBOX 360 and a Wacom Intuos A5 Graphics tablet. Entries can be seen here: http://browse.deviantart.com/?catpath=projects/contests/2008/princeofpersia

Prince of Persia promises tons of downloads

Ubisoft confirmed today that it plans to release Downloadable Content for its upcoming Prince of Persia video game post-launch. Full details and release date to be announced in the near future.
"Our intention is to do downloadable content that really offers a lot of value for the player - another experience." said Ben Mattes, Producer.
Ubisoft also released Prince of Persia’s fourth Developer’s Diary now available for immediate posting.
