A New Pokémon Adventure with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers Of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers Of Darkness!

Pokémon fans get ready to rejoice and dust off that explorer hat as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness hit stores across Europe very soon! Having sold over 1.5 million copies globally following their launches in Japan and the US, this epic adventure, based in a world of mystery full of friends, enemies and hidden treasures, will give players the chance to live the life of a Pokémon. With the ability to communicate with friends via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the Nintendo DS Wireless Communication, or by sharing passwords, players will never be completely lost, no matter how deep the Dungeon may be. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness launch across Europe on 4th July 2008.
With the first titles of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series selling over 1 million copies across Europe, Pokémon fans will not want to miss this next instalment. Once again heading into a world completely populated by Pokémon, players take a Personality Quiz to determine which Pokémon they will become. Will fans become their favourite Pokémon from the 16 potential Pokémon alter egos, including four Pokémon from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, available? Players must also choose a Partner Pokémon to support them through the rollercoaster adventure ahead as their trusty sidekick. Accompanied by their loyal friend in this strange world, players embark on an epic journey through limitless and randomly generated dungeons, uncovering mystery after mystery to find out why they’ve become a Pokémon.
The unpredictability in these titles is not limited to the Mystery Dungeons as Pokémon fans soon find out that the undiscovered treasures hidden in the deepest and darkest Dungeons are not the only secrets in this world! As players search and battle Pokémon in the dungeons, they discover that a Pokémon has travelled back in time to steal the precious Time Gears hidden in the farthest corners of this world. It is up to the player to build an Exploration Team brave enough to take on this enemy and prevent Time from stopping and the whole world plunging into Darkness!
As players settle into their new Pokémon form, their Partner Pokémon will urge them to join Wigglytuff’s Guild to create an Exploration Team. Once initiated into the Guild the newly formed team is allowed to run simple errands, but very soon the Exploration Team will head out on grander adventures, seeking lost items and capturing wanted outlaws. At the Guild, players will be well looked after by a host of Pokémon who are always ready to help players with their adventure!
Players take on the responsibility of Team leader as they enter the dungeons, collecting items and challenging enemy Pokémon standing in their way. As the game progresses, victory will sometimes see fans able to invite the defeated Pokémon into their team. Also, a useful new option in these Pokémon titles is now available to those who faint in the Dungeons. They are able to send out an SOS mail to friends via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or the Nintendo DS wireless function or as a password!

Choosing the Friend Rescue option allows any player who is defeated in a dungeon to issue an SOS mail to friends or other Exploration Teams, calling for them to enter that dungeon and make a rescue attempt. If the rescue attempt is a success, the defeated Exploration Team will not lose any money or items and continue the exploration from where they fainted. Along with the Friend Rescue requests, players can also access Wonder Mail to share dungeon missions and view any requests for advice from other players. Fans can also swap items in Trade Items and even trade team members in Trade Team.
So prepare for a summer full of mystery and epic adventures as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness launch across Europe on 4th July 2008.

Nintendo Wii-kly Update: Photo Feature, Pokemon Snap Added To Wii Shop Channel

Get ready to celebrate the arrival of a bunch of fun new features on the Wii Shop Channel. This week marks the debut of the first Pokémon game for the Virtual Console: Pokémon Snap, which originally was a hit on Nintendo 64. This Pokémon photographic adventure comes with a special Wii bonus: It now includes a special feature that allows players to post pictures they take in the game to their Wii Message Board and send them to friends with whom they've traded Friends Codes.

And let's not ignore the other sure-to-please titles: Ghosts'n Goblins and BASEBALL STARS 2. These three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. But wait – there's more!

Later in the day on Monday, Nintendo will make your holiday shopping just a little bit easier. If some people on your gift list have visions of classic video games dancing in their heads, you're in luck. Starting this week, Wii Shop Channel patrons can use a new Gifting feature to send games to other Wii owners with whom they've traded Friend Codes. It's an easy and inexpensive way to give your fellow Nintendo buffs the gift of a classic game—no wrapping paper required. And don't worry about duplication. If your friend already has the game you're trying to give, you'll get a simple message and be bumped back into the catalog to continue shopping.

Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Pokémon Snap (Nintendo 64, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): As one of the most unique games in a renowned series, Pokémon Snap was the first truly 3-D Pokémon game and introduced the phenomenon to the Nintendo 64. Travel to Pokémon Island and meet Professor Oak to begin a safari, taking the best possible photographs of 63 different Pokémon as they exist in the wild, undisturbed by humans. This is not as easy as it sounds—the island has many types of climates and environments to explore, along with secret activities and hidden passages to discover. Plus, some of the Pokémon can be a little shy and won't pose for the camera unless you tease them with special items. After you're done, submit one picture of each Pokémon to Professor Oak, and he'll judge it based on size, pose, technique and number of Pokémon captured.

Ghosts'n Goblins (NES, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone—Mild Animated Violence, 500 Wii Points): Ghosts'n Goblins was a popular arcade game before it made the leap to the NES in 1986. Like later games in the series, Ghosts'n Goblins presents quite a challenge to players brave enough to take on the role of Arthur and delve into the realm of demons and monsters to rescue the kidnapped princess. Choose your weapons wisely and take advantage of their strengths to deal with the situation at hand. Pass through the six gates that stand between you and Astaroth, and teach him a lesson in chivalry he'll never forget. Demonstrating a high level of technical prowess for a game of its era, Ghosts'n Goblins presents a unique and unforgettable universe. The stage for adventure is set. Are you up to the test?

BASEBALL STARS 2 (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 900 Wii Points): Lace up your cleats and step onto the diamond with the pros of BASEBALL STARS 2. You'll find everything you'd expect in a classic game of baseball, but with an arcade feel and intense action that distinguish it from the pack. Pick one of six unique teams from cities around the world, then get ready for nine innings of excitement, whether you're taking on the computer in a 15-game tournament or squaring off against a friend. There are two modes of game play, so even the most inexperienced player can compete at the major-league level (with a little computer-aided fielding). Watch as the game develops through split-screen views and close-up shots worthy of any highlight film, and see if you can catch the numerous over-the-top animations of the large and detailed player models. Think you have what it takes to win the pennant?

Pokemon for sore throats...

Even when you've got a sore throat, Pokémon is there for you. Yes, this is Pocket Monsters nodo ame (throat lozenges), which comes in two fruity flavors: Orange and grape. They even have Vitamin C in them. How about that? And if this wasn't enough (it really isn't), there's Diamond & Pearl SPACE JUICE. Well, it's not really space juice. Pokémon space juice would be absurd. Rather, it's mixed fruit juice in an astronaut-style squeezy pouch that's often used for energy jelly drinks in Japan.

New Pokemon title announced For Wii Ware Service

Nintendo are taking this Wii Ware business seriously. At their Fall Press Conference today they announced a new Pokemon title for the service, called Pokemon Bokujyou.

As in, Pokemon Farm. As in, the very raw essence of Pokemon.

The point is that Pokefans can transfer their Pokemans (from Diamond or Pearl) to the Wii, and once there they can tend to them. Raise them. Perhaps even snuggle them, all on their very own Pokemon farm. Sounds idyllic.

But looks a little...unsettling.

Nintendo have released a minor update today on the Official Smash Bros. website, revealing a return of one of the classic Punch Out! characters, Little Mac, as an assist trophy.

Pokémon Pandemonium is Back

now ranked in Top 5 action figure brands, total Pokémon sales in Canada are expected to almost triple this year

Pokémon, the global pop culture phenomenon that created a frenzy when it hit Canada in 1998, is back, and it's resurging with significant speed with a new generation of fans. With the new broadcast of the 10th television season entitled Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl on YTV this fall, Canadian sales of new Pokémon merchandise are expected to escalate even further.

The Pokémon brand in Canada is expected to reach $30-million in retail sales in 2007 which represents double and, in some categories, triple the business it did in 2006 - including sales of video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, toys, home décor, and apparel. This resurgence was fuelled by this spring's launch of the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl video games for the Nintendo DS, featuring more than 100 new Pokémon characters, and the introduction of a new expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game in May.

Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl are the fastest-selling video games in the history of the series, with worldwide sales in excess of 10 million games, and Pokémon Trading Card Game sales up an astounding 300 per cent.

"Pokémon is a classic in the world of video games - since it launched the brand has always been among our top selling video games," said Nintendo of Canada vice-president and general manager Ron Bertram. "The two key drivers behind the wild success of the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl video games are the renewed popularity of the brand, and the extraordinary nature of game play that is enjoyed by longtime fans of Pokémon, plus a whole new generation of kids." According to NPD, Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl video games are the top two selling portable video games in 2007 to date.

Already a top-rated program on Cartoon Network in the U.S., the Canadian debut on YTV of the 10th season of the animated TV series called Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl, is generating impressive ratings since its start on September 28.

"Pokémon toys started the year off within the top 10 most popular action figures, and then the momentum of the launch of the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl video games nearly tripled sales of toys and catapulted Pokémon into the top five action figure brands," said Eddie Hayden, Director Marketing, JAKKS Pacific, Inc., a multi-brand company that designs and markets a broad range of toys and consumer products including Pokémon products. "As a result of this new wave of Poké-mania, we're working around-the-clock to make sure we have enough toys to fill the influx of Holiday 2007 orders from Canadian retailers."

Pokémon is the collective name for the 490 characters that one can find, catch, train, trade, collect and use in battle against rivals in the quest to become a Pokémon Master. After launching in Japan in 1996, Pokémon came to North America in 1998. Its arrival spurred a shopping frenzy that is still remembered by an entire generation of kids and their parents.

"The new Pokémon entertainment and toy products coming to market are fresh and compelling to kids."

Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl introduce a new generation of fans to a new generation of Pokémon, featuring over 100 new characters hailing from the region of Sinnoh - a new land of blue lakes, mysterious forests and snowy hills.

Pokémon merchandise is available at major retailers.

Capcom boost by Super Smash Bros. delay

The delay of Super Smash Bros. Brawl into 2008 will be a huge boost to game maker Capcom.

The data-analysis arm of IGN Entertainment, GamerMetrics finds that the interests of potential buyers of Super Smash Bros. Brawl are most closely linked to three games: Super Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.
That gamers would gravitate towards Nintendo's other big holiday title is a no-brainer. But the second and third most positively correlated games are Capcom's holiday titles.

"The former should appeal to the younger, casual segment of Super Smash Bros fans, while the latter will command the attention of the older, more mature Nintendo enthusiasts," said the firm's statement today.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed to Feb 2008

Nintendo Wii gamers are in for disappointment with the announcement that the much-awaited game title Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be delayed to February 10, 2008.

I’m sure many have expected that this will already be out by Christmas, just in time for the holiday shopping, but due to some circumstances Nintendo has no choice but to put it off for a little while longer. But the wait will be all worth the wait according to some who had the privilege to see the playable version demonstrated at the press conference held in San Francisco and Tokyo just last week.

What is so special about this Super Smash Bros. Brawl that a lot are watching out for it? Well it’s like a 4-in-1 game because its main characters come from some of the popular Nintendo games like Princess Zelda, Mario and Pikachu. This game is filled with so much action that will make it really fun to play.

Because of the delay there are some speculations that Microsoft will be ahead once again in terms of sales with the recently released Halo 3. This would also give chance to Sony to recoup their sales.
