Phantasy Star Universe saga video game on PSP


Phantasy Star Portable picks up the exciting Phantasy Star Universe saga. Through the heroics of PSU and AOTI star Ethan Weber, the Gurhal system has been at peace for two decades.



The player is partnered up with Vivienne, a new prototype CAST from GRM, to investigate and clear out animals that seem to have been affected by a Remnant SEED Effect. During the investigation, they come across Helga, a woman who was thought to have died 20 years ago. How is she connected to the Remnant SEED? And how is Vivienne connected to all of this?

PSU PSP offers both Story Mode and Multiplayer Mode (via Sony wireless), so the player can play Phantasy Star anywhere! PSU PSP continues the exciting Phantasy Star experience. In single-player mode, the player can explore the next intriguing Phantasy Star chapter. In multiplayer mode, players can team up with three other friends via Sony wireless to go on cooperative missions. With original PSU and PSU:AOTI content to enjoy, as well as exclusive new items, environments, and enemies for the PSP, players will want to play it all.

Phantasy star Portable exclusive PSP game soon

The Phantasy Star experience is soon to be available on the PSP, picking up the story from before Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus. With a new character – Vivienne (see rabbit-eared lady pictured above) – players must investigate a new contamination in the Gurhal system.

Both longtime fans and new players will experience a brand new storyline, a new record book feature, new characters and the ability to play with up to four other players (via Sony wireless) – whilst still being able to enjoy the original content from the Phantasy Star Universe series. Players can also create their own avatar or port in a character from the Phantasy Star Portable downloadable demo.

The Phantasy Star experience on the PSP will also be the first in the series to offer multiple endings based on different player actions.

Phantasy Star Universe video game top in Japan


Sega's Phantasy Star Universe for the PlayStation Portable has held on to the top spot in the Japanese software sales chart for the second consecutive week, according to information from Media Create for the week ending August 10.

It sold just fewer than 150,000 units in its second week on sale, holding off competition from new entry Fire Emblem on the Nintendo DS, which sold around 145,000 units.

Rhythm Heaven Gold fell one place to third, still selling 130,000 copies, while the Xbox 360 received a welcome boost with the release of Tales of Vesperia - the Namco Bandai game sold 108,000 units to take fourth place.

Dragon Quest V continued to sell well, breaking through the 1 million lifetime barrier, while the other new entries in the top ten followed - Sangokushi Taisen Ten and Summon Night 2, both for the DS, took sixth and seventh places.

Wii Fit edged ever closer to the 2.5 million lifetime mark in eighth, followed by Mario Kart Wii, while the PlayStation 3 edition of Soul Calibur IV rounded off the top ten.
