VR your PC has to be 7 times more powerful tahn it was for 1080p say Nvidia

Nvidia have said that virtual reality games will require 7 times more power than present 1080p games, and they should know.

Oculus Rift and HTC Vive powered by a PC using Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X graphics chip have been used in demos.

"It's about a sevenfold increase in raw performance to render for VR versus traditional PC gaming. You have to do that in less than 20 milliseconds from head rotation to what shows up on your display." says Jason Paul, boss of Nvidia Shield.

This revelation could hinder PC game developers as the user base of PCs able to run VR will be a lot smaller that conventional games. They may take a 'wait and see' tactic in case VR turns out to be another 3DTV lemon.
