Super Mario Maker new update adds checkpoints, power-up on Mario size and more - Wii U

A Super Mario Maker update is coming on November 4th bringing some welcome new features.

Included are the addition of mid-level checkpoints that let players restart from specific points in a level should they lose a life. Plus there will also be an update that allows power-ups in item boxes to be dependent on Mario's size.
For instance small Mario would receive a Super Mushroom from a block and larger Super Mario will receive a useful Fire Flower from that same block.

Nintendo will also make it (a bit) easier to find good created levels, With 'Official Makers' feature with levels created by Nintendo partners and staff.
